Applied Engineering Overview

Our applied engineering work is centered on the development of new technologies that can help to mitigate climate change, with a specific focus on systems that involve heat transfer. This translates to the development of new technologies that can have an impact in stationary power (e.g., by enabling the storage of renewable energy at low cost), the industrial sector (e.g., by reinventing industrial processes to be CO2 free), and even transportation (e.g., by developing new approaches to on board energy storage). The ultimate goal of our work is to develop technologies that will reduce CO2 emissions and provide the greatest chance that our species will be able to survive on this planet.
