Biography
Dr. Qingzi Zhu joined the ASE Lab at Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT in 2018 as a research scientist. He works on modeling and experiments for Generation 3 Concentrating Solar Power Systems, including printed circuit heat exchanger, pump and valve, ceramic castable cement tanks and pipes for molten salt, etc. He also works on heat management in Al smelting process to increase the energy efficiency. Before joining MIT, he worked on nuclear thermal hydraulics at Purdue University as a PhD student (2012-2017) with Prof. Mamoru Ishii and a postdoc (2018) with Prof. Seungjin Kim. In his spare time, he enjoys sailing and running.
